The Cranes are back!

and so are the great blue herons. they have a rookery at the edge of the property, huge nests at the top of oak trees overlooking a small wetland area to the west. they look like teradactles when they fly and there are atleast a dozen of them nesting here. they fly much lower than the sandhill cranes that are mostly just passing through on their way further north. a friend of the farm, scott came over yesterday and took us out to look at all the birds. with the warmer weather, birds of all types have repopulated the land. the sound of our returned neighbors is astounding. quite the opposite of the winter hush.
